It's been an eventful week here at SHS:
We had a special visit from former SPS teacher Adam Gee who came to talk finance with our students, our annual Foods Class Chili Cook Off where students compete to make the best chili, and our Freshman Class Advisors running concessions for the girl's basketball game against Geneseo.
We are officially two weeks away from winter break! The countdown begins!

Keep up the great attendance routine this year! As we approach the end of the semester, we can check to see if your child is on track to stay in the green zone for attendance. If they have missed less than five days 1st semester, they are on track to meet their attendance goal at the end of the school year! Positive attendance is the first step to academic success!
A VERY successful SHS Travel Club trip for this winter! They started at the #bixbeiderbeckemuseum, followed by a delicious brunch at The Diner, and their favorite, Harrison Street Escape Rooms. Both groups successfully escaped, so they celebrated by stopping by Crumbl Cookie. The kids are already asking about the next adventure! Thank you Mrs. Hartman and Mrs. Johnson for creating these memorable experiences for our students!

Lauren Fritz's English students partner with Pete Hill's Life Skills students to knit scarves for Crazy for a Cure. Many of these students are new to knitting, and they have enjoyed developing this talent while getting to know their fellow peers--all for a great cause!

The Freshman Class is holding a fundraiser for the next two weeks. All of these SPS items from JJM would be great for Christmas; items will be ready for pick up or shipped before we start our winter break! Please click on the link and place your order. Wednesday, October 18 is a School Improvement Half Day for Sterling Public Schools. There is no Preschool on October 18. Franklin and Jefferson will dismiss at 11:30, Lincoln and Washington will dismiss at 11:20, Challand Middle School and Sterling High School will dismiss at 11:25.
