ABOUT THE SURVEY
Last year, schools across Illinois participated in the Tenth annual 5Essentials Survey of Learning Conditions: Organizing Schools for Improvement this past academic year. This survey generates valuable data that districts can use to guide their ongoing efforts to improve schools and to offer students an excellent education. The survey is another improvement tool that allows districts and the state to share data as a means to inform parents and community members about the school’s learning environment. The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is administered online by Chicago Impact at the University of Chicago on behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education. Data and indicators are a result from an anonymous administration of the survey instrument.

Wednesday, February 21 is a School Improvement Half Day for SPS. Jefferson and Franklin will dismiss at 11:30, Lincoln and Washington will dismiss at 11:20, Challand and SHS will dismiss at 11:25. There is no Preschool on 2/21/24.
Travel Club trip #3 for the school year brought them to Springfield, IL on this cold President’s Day weekend. They learned all the things about our 16th president by visiting the #AbrahamLincolnPresidentialLibraryAndMuseum followed by lunch at the adorable #6thStCafe and a brisk visit to the @lincolnhomenps (where they experienced a fire alarm!🚨) and a final stop to pay their respects to Mr. Lincoln himself at his final resting place. It was a very early morning and a terribly brisk day, but Mrs. Hartman and Mrs. Johnson had so much fun with students learning what makes Illinois the Land of Lincoln 🎩
