Our Community

ABOUT STERLING

Sterling Public Schools is located in Sterling, IL in Northwestern Illinois along the Rock River. Sterling has a population of approximately 15,000 and serves approximately 3,300 students in grades PreK-12. The district maintains 6 school buildings:

Jefferson Elementary - PreK-2

Franklin Elementary - PreK-2

Lincoln Elementary - 3rd-5th

Washington Elementary - 3rd-5th

Challand Middle School - 6th-8th

Sterling High School - 9th-12th

Sterling is approximately 100 miles west of Chicago.
