We had 14 8th grade students participate in a field trip to Astec Mobile Screens Inc. Students were chosen based on the results from the Naviance career interest inventory and were accompanied by counselors Ms. Atilano and Mrs. Hoffman. If students had indicated, based on the survey questions, that they were interested in Manufacturing and/or Engineering, they were invited to attend and see how Mobile Screens are designed and built from start to finish. Students were also able to drive one of the machines remotely. A big thank you to Patrick Reaver and Matt Pistol, who spoke with our students about job expectations, people skills and personal skills they would need in order to work for a company like Astec.
