"I first started teaching at Challand right after graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2000. I have also taught band at Belvidere High School and band and choir at Rock Falls High School, but Challand is a special place that I always seem to return to. I have been teaching CMS band students part-time for the past 16 years and I’m excited to return full time after spending the last three years working with truancy families in Whiteside, Lee, and Ogle County. I currently serve on the PFLAG Sauk Valley Board, serve as song leader and direct the adult choir at First Presbyterian in Sterling, and I am the Registration Coordinator for the Illinois Music Education Association IMEC. I also practice Reiki and enjoy helping people grow and feel their best."
