We recognized our August/September Homeroom Students of the Month, Specials Students of the Month, and Accelerated Point Club Members on Monday.
Students of the month are respectful, responsible, and safe -- and, they help others be the same. Specials students of month demonstrate these characteristics in their specials classes (PE, Music, STEM, Art, and Library).
Accelerated Reader is a program we utilize to allow students to track their reading. Once students read a book or listen to a story in class, they can test their comprehension with a short quiz.
This year, students could choose from the following prizes: book vending machine token, eat lunch with a friend in the principal's office ticket, popsicle ticket, principal's chair for the day ticket, or a small fidget.
It was smiles all around as students received their awards. Each name was called during the morning announcements, and again before the group. After each name, students politely applauded and congratulated their peers. We are proud of our Washington students!
