C. Hartman

Cami Hartman, Counselor at Jefferson Elementary School, was honored on Friday, May 20th, at a school wide assembly, in which she received the Northwest Region of the Illinois Principal Association Certified Support Person Leadership Award for 2021-2022. Mrs. Hartman has played a vital role in building a successful climate and culture among students and staff members at Jefferson Elementary School. Cami is kind, compassionate, and professional at all times. She works with students on a daily basis when teaching kids how to react, respond, or show resilience in specific situations. She teaches our Social and Emotional Curriculum and supports teachers to continue with follow up lessons, too. Mrs. Hartman always finds time to help support our staff with better ways to serve our students. Not only does Mrs. Hartman support all of our kids with their mental health well being, she has been instrumental in building the Therapy Dog program at Sterling Public Schools, with the first Professional Therapy Dog, Scone, becoming a member of the Jefferson Elementary School Staff. Cami Hartman is a true professional and so deserving of this special award!
