Friday, May 20th was a very exciting day for Franklin Elementary School students. Author, Amanda Fox, of Louisville, Ky came to read her new book, MARKERTOWN, to the students. Before Ms. Fox’s arrival the students were able to design their own potential Markertown residents. They were able to share their designs with the author. Ms. Fox’s book is available in two formats, a regular softback book and an augmented reality book. She has a unique feature to her augmented reality coloring book that she shared with the students during the presentation. The black and white pictures come to life when scanned. Also, during the presentation she had students interact by calling them up to volunteer as large cut-out characters to act out the story.
