Martie O'Brien is Retiring!

We want to take a moment and honor Martie O'Brien on her retirement. She has been a valuable member of the Sterling Public School's family and she will be missed! Below is a message from Martie!

"As I retire from Sterling Public Schools, I reflect upon the legacy of the Lee family.  My father, Robert June Lee began teaching at Sterling High School in 1946. Out of his six children, four of us taught in Sterling Public Schools, Mary Amsbaugh (SHS class of ’65), Becky Reiley (SHS class of ’68, Frank Lee (SHS class of ’71) and myself (class of ’77). The tradition continues with my daughter and son-in-law, Kyle and Jamie Rodriguez Ruiz (class of ’04). We are all proud Sterling Golden Warriors, along with my two other siblings, Callie Lee Fisher (class of ’80) and Robert June Lee Jr. (class of “61), my husband Mick O’Brien (class of ’76) and my daughter Amanda Rodriguez Bourn (class of ’01). I have been lucky enough to spend my entire career in Sterling Public Schools, teaching at Jefferson, Franklin and Washington schools.  I have taught with so many amazing past and present colleagues, and have watched many of my former students become wonderful teachers in our district."
