The Freshman Academy is a group of teachers, counselors, and an administrator dedicated to the well-being of our newest Golden Warriors! Our SHS Freshman Academy is here to help you as you transition from middle to high school. The Academy is located on the first floor hallway as you enter through Door #1. It houses our Math, English, Biology, and Social Studies classrooms.
An essential part of freshman year is learning the culture and expectations of Sterling High School. You will find that high school is very different from middle school. You will have far greater freedom and independence. You will also have far greater responsibility. This means you take responsibility to complete all assignments when they are due and that you study for all tests. It also means that you actively participate in class, ask questions if something is unclear, and seek extra support if you find yourself falling behind. Your Freshman Academy teachers will challenge you as they work beside you to support you each step of the way.
