Mrs. Burge is Retiring!

We want to take a moment and honor Mrs. Kim Burge on her retirement. She has been a valuable member of the Sterling Public School's family and she will be missed! Below is a message from Mrs. Burge!

"As I end my career of 26 years with SPS, I walk away with a variety of feelings.

I have been looking forward to this time that my husband and I can start a new chapter in our lives. One filled with adventure.  We are always on the go, keeping busy.  We love antiquing, which can take us on an adventure in itself.  We enjoy spending time at our camper on the river.  Most of all we will enjoy more time with our four grandkids and will be able to attend more of their school and sporting events.

My time at SPS has been a great experience.  If asked what stands out the most in this time spent with SPS, it is the people.  I have worked with four great principals, Ron Rick, Matt Birdsley, Sara Dail and Heather Wittenauer.  I have worked with a great staff that I call my friends.  I have gotten to know a lot of great parents.  These people have all made my job enjoyable.

I wish I could say there is no sadness in walking away, but there is.  There is so much uncertainty in our world and what is to come. All we can do is to put it in God’s hands.  This pandemic has made us stronger and has united us.  With time, those smiling faces will return and SPS will be back to doing what they do best, educating the students.

I would like to thank Dr. Dail and Dr. Everett for my time with SPS.  It has been a fulfilling career."

Sincerely,
Kim Burge
