Counseling Roles

Counselors provide support and guidance in many facets, including:

Academic - Counselors work to provide a successful learning environment for students based on the students' needs and interests. Counselors help to plan students' schedules and future academic plans as well as working with students to develop the necessary skills to be successful in the classroom.

College/Career - Counselors aide students in postsecondary planning. Counselors guide students in preparation to advance to 4 year schools, 2 year schools, technical schools, trade schools, military, and the workforce.

Personal/Social-emotional - Counselors assist students in handling the stress that occurs in high school. Counselors work closely with teachers, students, and administrators to make sure that students are prepared with the skills necessary to deal with the many challenges and struggles that may occur.
