College Athletics

The recruiting process for high school student-athletes can be a long, strenuous, and confusing process. The counseling department is here to work with student-athletes to make this as simple and enjoyable a process as possible. If a student-athlete is interested in competing athletically at the collegiate level, there are many things that the student-athlete needs to be aware of. It is extremely important that the student-athlete be in contact with his/her counselor and coach early and often in the process. The following are some important points to note about preparing to compete in collegiate athletics.

  1. Communicate with high school coaches and AAU/travel coaches to determine what level your skills fit best with
  2. Know the recruiting rules and regulations for the school that you are in contact with
  3. Work with your counselor to schedule classes to meet the eligibility requirements of the NCAA or NAIA
  4. Take advantage of and enjoy the recruiting process. It can be exhausting, but have fun with it
