Fluency/Stuttering

Stuttering is a speech disorder in which sounds, syllables, or words are repeated or prolonged disrupting the flow of speech. This may include:

  • Repetition (repeating sounds/syllables/words "ca- ca- ca- can")
  • Prolongations (holding on to a sound "lllllllllike")
  • Blocks (Stopping the flow of air)
  • Secondary/non-speech behaviors rapid eye blinks, tremors of the lips, head jerking)
