The
Sterling
Elementary Orchestras consists of the Beginning, Concert and
Symphonic Orchestras in grades 5-8, taught and conducted by
Mrs. Barbara Lauff.

SUMMER LESSONS 2011
|

Lessons
for all students will resume the week of Monday,
January 3rd.
Rehearsals for 5th graders will resume in late February or March.
Rehearsals for 6th graders will resume in mid-January.
Rehearsals for 7th/8th graders resume Monday, January 3rd.

Our annual Chocolate Rose
Fund-raiser will run from Tuesday, February 1st through Friday, February
11th. We will deliver roses to classrooms at Challand on Monday, January
14th. Washington and Lincoln students will receive bags of roses to sell;
CMS students will sell during lunch times. Parent volunteers are needed;
please contact Barb Quick at 815-631-1022. |

IGSMA Contest is Friday, March 11th and
Saturday, March 12th at Geneseo Middle School in Geneseo. Symphonic
Orchestra most likely will perform as an organization on Friday,
March 11th. ALL 6th graders and Symphonic Orchestra members who are
performing solos and ensembles will be on Saturday, March 12th.

Evening rehearsals
6:00pm-7:00pm for Symphonic Orchestra will begin Monday, January 24th.
Additional Mondays are:
Monday, February 28th
Monday, March 7th
Our Spring Concert is Thursday,
May 5th at 7:00pm at SHS. Dress clothes are
required. Students need to be at SHS at 6:00pm for tuning and seating.
